DEE Constituents recognized During the 110th CEAT Founding Anniversary Celebration
The Electrical Engineering Department participated in the 110th CEAT Founding Anniversary Awarding Ceremony on February 22, 2022, held at the Dante B. de Padua Auditorium while other members of the faculty, staff and students joined the activity via Zoom platform. Highlights of the awarding ceremony included loyalty awards given to faculty members and staff corresponding to 10, 15 and 20 years of service. Among the loyalty awardees were Asst. Prof. John Paolo A. Ramoso and Asst. Prof. Karen-Christian C. Agno for 10 years of service; Asst. Prof. Annie Liza C. Pintor for 15 years of service; and Asst. Prof. Roderick L. Catriz and Mr. Rodolfo A. Ramos for 20 years of service.
A major highlight of the event was the awarding of the CEAT Outstanding Junior Faculty for 2022, awarded to Asst. Prof. Melvin C. Ilang-Ilang, a current faculty member of the department. He is the fifth DEE faculty member in DEE history awarded as outstanding faculty in the CEAT Foundation Anniversary celebration. Asst. Prof. Ilang-Ilang joins the “DEE Hall of COFA (CEAT Outstanding Faculty Award)” alongside past COFA awardees, namely, Asst. Prof. Adrian Augusto M. Sumalde, a former DEE faculty member and two-time COFA awardee for CEAT Outstanding Junior Faculty in 2014 and in 2018; Asst. Prof. Roderick L. Catriz, also a two-time COFA awardee for CEAT Outstanding Junior Faculty in 2009 and CEAT Outstanding Senior Faculty in 2014; Asst. Prof. Rodolfo A. Aguirre, Jr, the CEAT Outstanding Junior Faculty in 2020; and Asst. Prof. Elvin D. Dulce, awardee for CEAT Outstanding Junior Faculty in 2021.

Students who qualified as University Scholars and College Scholars were also recognized in the awarding ceremony. However, no certificates were issued, since grades for the past semester were not included in the computation of the general weighted average or GWA.
